Reactive Hypoglycemia:
Breakfasts:
- Drink decaf tea or coffee, but avoid juices, milk, etc.
- Oatmeal w/ flax and a little brown sugar. Banana. Egg.
- 1/2 bagel with cream cheese, egg, bannana.
Snacks / Lunches:
- Peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat
- Deli Sandwiches on whole wheat
- Whole wheat crackers & cheese
- Flax pita bread w/ hummus & olive oil
- Nuts / bannana / apples / plums etc.
- Potato with cottage cheese
Lunches:
- Beef & Bean Burrito (hold the rice)
- Subway sandwiches on Whole Wheat
- Pizza Hut Pizza (a few slices)
- Pasta with Meat Sauce
- Salad with steak tips
Dinners
- Marinated Beef, Mashed Potatoes, Butternut Squash, Salad
- Lentil Soup with Ham
- Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
Desserts:
- Banna Bread
- Apple Cake
- Yogurt with Jam
Foods to avoid:
- More than a tablespoon of Honey, Sugar, etc.
- Caffeine
- Ice Cream
- Caffeinated drinks (tea, coffee, sodas)
- Excessive sugar, carbs, or fruit that don’t have at least 1/3 dietary fiber
